Cheryl Lee Sells, 70, of Wakarusa, Indiana, peacefully passed away on February 24, 2025, after a brief period of declining health at Elkhart General Hospital.

Cheryl was born on July 25, 1954, in Mishawaka, to the late Wilbur and Margaret Trumbull Hurst. She was preceded in death by her sister, Billie Fonta.

Cheryl married Robert Sells on August 28, 1971, in Roseland, Indiana. She enjoyed her career at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka before retiring. She was an avid gardener, delighting in nurturing flowers and vegetables, and taking immense joy in caring for her grandchildren and home. Cheryl's vibrant spirit shone through in her love for hobbies such as puzzles, Bingo, trips to the casinos, and her travels to Las Vegas playing cards. She was also a former member of the Wakarusa United Methodist Church.

Cheryl is survived by her two sons, Steven Sells of Wakarusa and Jeromee Sells of Elkhart; her cherished grandchildren Eli, Elli, Cooper, Payton and Brandon (Jamie), a great granddaughter, Berklee; and her brothers, James Hurst of Elkhart and John Platt of Florida.

Interment will be scheduled at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date.

In keeping with Cheryl's wishes, no formal services are planned.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her, and she will be deeply missed.
