Christine Marie Kovach; Mother, Daughter, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt & Friend, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014 at age 77 in Healthwin Specialized Care. She was born October 12, 1936 in South Bend IN to Leonard & Helen (Guzicki) Lukasiak, who have preceded her in death, along with her daughter, Karen Marie Kovach, brother Leonard Lukasiak, Jr. and son-in-law, Thomas Hagedorn. Surviving are her children, Charles A. Kovach. Jr., Jackie Hagedorn, Kevin (Cindy) Kovach, Christine Kovach-Huling, Kenna (Bob) Leader and Keith Kovach; sisters, MaryAnn Kwiecinski, Fran Huff, and Rita Harper; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. Christine attended St. Joseph Catholic High School in South Bend and had retired from South Bend Plastics in Mishawaka. She had a love of roses, butterflies, and swans and was an avid fan of Elvis Presley. At her request there are no services or calling at this time, with private burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, however a Celebration of Life event will be held at a later date with details posted on Facebook.
