Claudette Kay Alwine, age 69, of Elkhart, Indiana passed away at Hospice House of Elkhart County on Thursday, February 25, 2010. Claudette was born November 6, 1940 in Goshen, Indiana to the late Neville and Laura Belle (Caldwell) Donovan. Claudette graduated from Goshen High School. On June 27, 1959, she married Phillip E. Alwine in Goshen, Indiana.
Phillip survives, along with their three sons, Tony (Lori) Alwine of Goshen, Randy (Tina) Alwine of Bristol, and Ron (Donna) Alwine of Elkhart. Also surviving are six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Claudette was preceded in death by her sister, Diane Alberry.
Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the 12:00 pm memorial service on Monday, March 1, 2010 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Interment will follow at a later date in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
Claudette was employed by MCL Cafeteria in Elkhart for many years, where she worked in a number of different areas throughout her employment. In her spare time, she enjoyed being outdoors sunbathing by the pool, cooking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. In her younger years, she was a member of the "Twins Club."
