Obituary

Listen to Obituary

Connie was born on September 17, 1953, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to the late Virgil and Phyllis (Buck) Bordner. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Rick Bordner.

A proud graduate of Mishawaka High School, Class of 1971, Connie continued her education and went on to earn her insurance license. Throughout her career, she had the opportunity to serve many customers, building relationships and friendships along the way.

Connie met the love of her life, Edward Peters, and the two were married on May 5, 1979, in South Bend, Indiana. Together, they shared many years of love, companionship, and cherished memories.

Connie is survived by her loving husband, Edward Peters; her nieces and nephews, Heather Hernandez, Amber Marquina, Adam Bordner, and Andy Bordner; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Colt, Alicia, Chrissy, Katelyn, Emily, Ashley, and Asia “Poppy”; along with numerous other friends and associates who will cherish her memory.

Connie was a devoted wife and friend who found joy in caring for her family and spending time with those she loved. She had a special fondness for her beloved Beagle dogs, traveling and exploring new places, indulging in chocolate cake, and relaxing while watching her favorite television show, Dawson’s Creek. These simple pleasures brought her happiness and created many treasured memories with those closest to her.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Everlasting Life, Osceola, Indiana, where Connie will be laid to rest.

Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, Indiana, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
