Cynthia Cathleen Gearhart
October 22, 1961 – May 06, 2024
In Loving Memory of Cynthia Cathleen Gearhart aged 62, who peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 6, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. Cynthia (Cindy) was born October 22, 1961, in Elkhart, to Lowell & Pat Hutsell. On September 7, 1985, she married her beloved husband, Kevin Gearhart. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and aside from Jesus, it was what she cherished most.
Cindy is survived by her adoring husband Kevin E. Gearhart, whom she married on September 7, 1985; her children Ashley (Adam) Stump and Chris Gearhart; her grandchildren Teagan, Chloe and Colton Stump; her brother Mark (Lori) Hutsell; her sister-in-law Jackie Gearhart; her nieces and nephews Jordan (Rachel) Hutsell, Andrea Hutsell, Meghan (Armando) Hutsell-Rivera, and Thea Hutsell; she also leaves behind her loving dog Cali,
Preceding her in death are her parents Lowell and Pat Hutsell; her in-laws Jack and Shirley Gearhart; and her loving dog KC.
Cindy embodied the qualities of caring, compassion, and hospitality. Her warm embrace and welcoming spirit made everyone feel at home in her presence. She was always on the lookout for how she, with her giving and generous heart, could go the extra mile for someone, to make them feel cherished or remove any burdens. With those around her, she touched hearts with her genuine kindness and infectious laughter. Her smile radiated joy, lighting up the lives of all who knew her. Even those she just met would find themselves sharing their life story with her, due to her remarkable ability to listen without judgement and to offer comfort and encouragement in every interaction. Cindy expressed selflessness and humility, always putting others before herself. Not only with her family, but in her work at Northpoint Elementary School for 22 years, where she worked with and cared for special needs students. She loved shining a light in the workplace and helping with the prayer list. She was blessed with great colleagues which became close friends. Cindy's generosity was continuous. Her unique gifts included making personalized photobooks for loved ones and her special popcorn, which was unmatched. Her love for her neighbors extended to her furry friends as well, earning her the endearing title of the "Mother Earth" of the cul-de-sac, where she delighted in caring for her neighbors' dogs and families. One of Cindy's greatest joys was being a loving wife and mother. She especially enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, who affectionately called her Gigi. They were one of her greatest gifts.
Cindy leaves behind a legacy of faith, hope, and love. All of Cindy's life flowed from her relationship with Jesus and being empowered by the Holy Spirit to spread his love. She was a true selfless and humble servant to her God. The Word of God was what kept Cindy anchored and filled with hope. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to shine through the lives of all who were blessed to know her.
In lieu of flowers the family would like you to consider a donation to any organization, as Cindy had various passions, please choose one you feel would honor Cindy's legacy.
