Daniel F. VanHuss, 82, of South Bend died Saturday, August 13, 2011 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. He was born January 18, 1929 in Bloomington, Illinois to Brady and Katheryn (Fredricks) Van Huss. On April 9, 1950, he married Lillian Ahlers. Dan worked as a mechanic and retired from Twin City Brakes & Alignment. He enjoyed his Breakfast Club'' gang and the fellowship & camaraderie they shared. The family also wishes to express their sincere & heartfelt thanks to the kind & caring staff at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center and for the care & compassion that Dan and his family received while there. Dan is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Lillian VanHuss; his son, James VanHuss of Mishawaka; daughter, Peggy Dixon of South Bend; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel F. VanHuss, Jr. in 1982. Funeral Services 11:00 Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, with calling from 9-11AM.
