Darrell Lee Stump, age 65, of Osceola, passed away Saturday, Nov. 28, 2014 at his home. Darrell was born Sept. 11, 1949 in Goshen, Indiana. He enlisted in the Army, where he served two tours in the Vietnam War. On August 5, 2000, he married Lisa M. Rosales in Elkhart.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Lisa M. Stump of Osceola, his mother, Rosalie (Don) Taber of Osceola, and his brothers Dennis (Karen) Stump of Union, MI, and Tab (Sue) Stump of Elkhart. Also surviving are his granddaughters, Lindsey and Lauren Lawler, best friend Mike Mayger, his nieces Sabrina Cosco, Casey (John) Pittman, and Courtney (Ben) Miller and several cousins. Darrell was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Lawler, and his father, Russell Stump.
There will be one hour of calling prior to the 2:30 pm memorial service with military honors on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola.
Darrell enjoyed carpentry as a hobby, loved Chevy Corvettes, and watching Notre Dame Football. He was a longtime member of the American Legion Post #308 in Osceola. His bright personality, generosity, love for life, and sense of humor was a big part of who he was.
