Davey Lee Dawalt, age 81, of Mishawaka passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at home. He was born July 29, 1935 to Glen and Desmonia (Sarber) Dawalt in Mishawaka, Indiana. Davey was a Mishawaka High School graduate and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army. He enjoyed painting, traveling, and visiting zoos. Davey is survived by his nieces and nephews, Michelle Teters, and Suzanne Daniels both of Mishawaka, Linda (Chuck) Servey of Missouri, Sally (George) Dawidko and Connie Lustig both of Michigan, Gary Procacino of Mississippi, and Louis Procacino of California; many great nieces and nephews. Davey was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Desmonia Dawalt; three sisters, Wava Bennett, Agnes Procacino, and Jean Kirkpatrick. There will be a time of visitation on Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 9-10 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 10 AM at the funeral home with internment following in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are directed to the Potawatomi Zoo, 500 S Greenlawn Ave, South Bend, IN 46615.
