David Earl Futrell, age 67, of Elkhart, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 at Woodland Manor Nursing Home. David was born September 12, 1946 in Paducah, KY to the late Orville E. and Rubena G. (Outland) Futrell. A graduate of Jimtown High School, David enlisted in the US Army, serving 4 years in Germany during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, David was employed for many years at the Vincent Bach Corporation in Elkhart, where he worked in several departments before his retirement.
Surviving are his siblings, Terry Futrell of Granger, Carolyn Reed of Newton, TX, and Glenda Bryant of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his brother, Orville Futrell, and his sister, Maris Merincesis.
A graveside service and Military honors will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014 in the Garden of Christus on the grounds of Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Please meet at Chapel Hill Funeral Home one half hour prior to the ceremony.
