David L. Ellsworth, 71, of Elkhart died Tuesday May 3, 2011. The Elkhart native was born May 29, 1939 to Donald L. and Bonnie (Doan) Ellsworth. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and had retired in 2003 as a Supervisor at Elkhart Foundry after 39 years there. David was an avid bowler, who has served as Association Manager of the Heart City USBC. David also enjoyed Nascar, golf, fishing and football, and was the Capt. of Ushers at Notre Dame stadium. Survivors include his lifetime companion, Gloria Stephenson; his son, Rex (Wilma) Ellsworth; his daughters, Connie Martin and Donna Izak, all of Elkhart; Gloria''s children, Angela (Thomas) Lee of Union, MI and Lori Hudnall of Leon, WV; his grandchildren, Tiffany (Jim) Cox, Amanda (Ray) Seabolt, Brandi Quinn, Mikala Ellsworth and Brandon Ellsworth, all of Elkhart; Gloria''s grandchildren, Jeremy Howden of Indianapolis, Justine Craig and Eric (Amanda) Lee, both of White Pigeon, MI, Dustin Craig, LeAnna Hudnall and Ryan Craig, all of Leon, WV and Adam Lee of Union, MI; his great-grandson, Kaleb Cox and Gloria''s great-grandchildren, Makayla Lee & Zachary Craig; his sisters, Bonnie Hudson of South Bend and Sally Bowman of Elkhart and his favorite dogs, "Maggie" and "Molly". Funeral Services 10:00 Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Friends may call Monday 2-4 & 6-8pm at the funeral home.
