David A. Gordy, 80, of Osceola, died Friday, February 27, 2015. The Syracuse native was born July 13, 1934 to Carl & Gertrude (Replogle) Gordy. On February 1, 1956 he married Patricia J. Luebke in Elkhart. David was a US Navy veteran and a retired master carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, working in the yard & garden, and bowling. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, having played baseball in his younger years and had tried out for the St. Louis Cardinals. In addition to his parents, David was also preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Kamp & Joyce Sherp. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Gordy of Osceola; sons, David C. Gordy, Timothy (Yvette) Gordy and Phillip Gordy, all of Osceola; brother, Steve (Carol) Gordy of Elkhart; grandchildren, Daniel (Tracy) Gordy of Naples FL, Jessica (Justin Littlefield) Gordy, Ryan (Kaye) Gordy and Brett Gordy, all of Mishawaka; David Michael Gordy & Jeremy Gordy, both of Osceola and Drew (Erica) Gordy of Elkhart; Step-grandchildren, David Talos of Mishawaka and Kristina (Micah) Urban of Griffith; 7 great-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren.
