David W. Kleitz, 81, of Grovertown and formerly of South Bend, died Sunday, September 16, 2012. The Buchanan, Michigan native was born January 7, 1931 to Oscar S. and Annie E. (Reprogle) Kleitz, who preceded David in death. On May 18, 1957 he married Mae Florence "Flossie" Slys. Flossie Kleitz died April 2, 2012. David & Flossie were married 54 years. He served in the US Navy and USNR from 1948 until 1960. David was a retired truck driver who enjoyed reading & puzzles, camping & the outdoors, building & construction and was immensely proud to have been born a twin. Survivors include son, Robert W. Kleitz of Grovertown; son, Steven T. (Joan) Kleitz of Niles, MI; daughter, Anita M. (Kenneth) Jobin of Elkhart; son, Peter L. (Christy) Kleitz of South Bend; grandchildren, Patricia Smith, Clark Curtis, Becki Curtis, Ashleigh (Ikko) Karasawa, Samantha Kleitz, Dylan Kleitz, Nicholas Jobin, Elizabeth Jobin; great-grandchildren Josh & Savannah Smith and Aiden & Brycen Curtis; sister, Edith Grubbs of Wakarusa and brother, Delbert D. (Linda) Kleitz of Bensonville, IL. In addition to his wife and parents, David was also preceded in death by sisters, Goldie Benson, Edna Wilson, Mary Seggerman, Anna Joy, Carrie Hatten, Pearl Seggerman; brother, Marvin Kleitz and his twin sister, Della Runnels. Funeral Services 2:00 Friday, September 21, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway. Friends may call Thursday 4-8pm at the funeral home.
