David E. Potter

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David E. Potter.  He was welcomed into his Savior's arms on July 14, 2023.

David was born in South Bend on July 30, 1949 to the late Raymond and Donnabell Potter.  He was the second of five brothers: Ricki Potter, the late Thomas Potter, the late Raymond Potter and Jim Sardi.

David proudly served as a U.S. Marine during the Vietnam War.  He retired from AM General.

He was an avid bowler and hated the 7/10 split.  He also played co-ed volleyball and pinochle.

David married Gale Wooley on October 23, 1971.  They were married for 51 years.  He was an AMAZING husband, father and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Gale, and their children: Peter (Dawn) Potter, Holly Williams and Heather (Tim) Stepp; 6 grandchildren: Elizabeth (Rich) Robinson, Brandon Potter, Heavin (Luhk) Mullendore, Tyler Fordyce and Tamarra Marietta; as well as 4 great-grandchildren: Ethan and Connor Robinson and Wayluhn and Addellah Mullendore.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle Potter, his mother, Donnabell Sardi and his step-father, William "Chisel" Sardi.

He was our Superman and will be forever in our hearts.

Friends may visit with the family from 1-3 PM Thursday July 20, 2023 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN 46561.

A Funeral Service in his honor will begin at 3 PM.  Pastor John Railton will officiate.  Military Honors will be provided by Edwardsburg VFW Post # 2284.

Memorial contributions may be directed to any Veteran's charity.
