David J. Ritchie, age 46, of Elkhart, passed away October 19, 2011 at Elkhart General Hospital. David was born September 27, 1965 to James and Mary (Schwaderer) Ritchie in Elkhart, IN. David graduated from Elkhart Central in 1986.

Surviving is his mother, Mary Ritchie and his sister, Cindy Hardy, both of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his father Jim in 2007, and his brother Aaron C. Ritchie in 2009. He was also a beloved Uncle and Great-Uncle to 10 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the 6:00 pm funeral service on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola.

David was very kind and loved being with people. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, and the music of REO Speedwagon. David loved to watch the ball games at Riverview Park, and was a railroad enthusiast. David was disabled in 1988 in an industrial accident, and never fully recovered.
