David L. Schieber

January 09, 1939 – February 03, 2024

David Leroy Schieber 85, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away on February 03, 2024. He was born to Arnel and Frances Schieber on January 09, 1939, in Osceola, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents Arnel and Frances Schieber; wife Mary June (Wendleboe) Schieber; brothers Bill and Gary Schieber; sister Nancy (Ellingson); son David A. Schieber; grandson Gary Schieber, and great-grandson Gavin Fricke.

Leaving behind his only brother Alan Schieber, his children Merrie Hatton, Mark Herrington, Cindy VanDePutte, Deborah (Gary) Thompson, Edward (Cheryl) Schieber; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandsons.

David was an Army veteran and a lifelong member of the DAV. He worked in the Tool and Die industry as a Machinist, Repairman, "Toolie." He was self-employed at Schieber's Machine Service. He enjoyed playing music and spending time with his family. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed "Brewing Spirits" as a member of the "Barrel Gang." Those that knew him, knew he was a pleasure to be around with his wicked sense of humor, and loving heart.

A visitation for David will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home located at 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, Indiana 46516.
