David Dean "Chopper" Thomas, 58, of Bristol, passed away at 10:57 pm, Thursday, January 7, 2010 in Elkhart General Hospital. David was born on August 24, 1951 in Mishawaka, IN to the late Billy and Jean Marie (Osborne) Thomas. On August 24, 1985, he married Carol Reece.
David is survived by his wife, Carol of Bristol; five children, Tracy (Kyle) Lee of Mishawaka, Jeremiah Cole of South Bend, Kevin Thomas of Oklahoma City, OK, Amanda Thomas of Bourbon, IN and Derrick Thomas of South Bend, IN and four grandchildren. Also surviving are two brother, Donald (Illah) Thomas of Union Mills, MI and Edward (Efi) Thomas of Mishawaka, IN. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Dave was a graduate of Penn High School and proudly served his country during Vietnam in the U.S. Army. His currently worked at Cequent Towing Products in Goshen and was a member of the Steelworker''s Union.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-6:00 pm, Sunday, January 10, 2010 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, January 11, 2010 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
