Dean E. Milliser, age 76, of Mishawaka, passed away at his residence at 3:00 am Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Dean was born March 9, 1935 to the late Earl and Bertha Milliser in Plymouth, Indiana. On April 9, 1961, he was united in marriage to Imogene (Olinger) Milliser. She preceded him in death, passing away on August 17, 2009.
Surviving are his children, Bonnie (Russell) Buck of Mishawaka, Indiana and Rodney (Lori) Milliser of South Bend, Indiana. Surviving as well are his grandchildren, Manseil (Sherry) Washburn, Alisha (Kevin) Blake and Tawny Milliser, along with six great grandchildren, Austin Cribbs, Morgann Carlo, Blake Overton, Manseil Washburn II, Elizabeth Cribbs and Brayden Washburn. Dean is also survived by his siblings, Paul Milliser of Argos, Indiana, Phil Milliser, Jane Meckling, Phyllis (Vernon) Stiles, and Paula Stewart, all of Plymouth, Indiana and Jane (Larry) Stiles of Cornersville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clifford, Don, and Harold Milliser.
Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the Noon funeral service on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Interment and Military Honors will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Dean was enlisted in the US Army from 1952-1955, and served overseas in Germany prior to his honorable discharge. He was a welder for many years, and retired at the age of 62 from Powerbox in Mishawaka. He enjoyed collecting guns and going to gun shows, listening to Bluegrass music, and going to garage sales to look for antiques. In his youth, Dean played the banjo in a Bluegrass band with his brothers and other family members. He enjoyed the outdoors, and was very generous and giving to others. He enjoyed spending time with his family most of all.
