Deloris L. Lee, age 57, of South Bend, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 22, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Deloris was born to Cleotha Warren on January 13, 1953 in Big Spring, Texas. She was raised by Ed and Gertrude Berry and Lonzo and Gether McGriff, who preceded her in death. On June 23, 1990, Deloris was united in marriage to Mr. Donald Lee Sr. in California.
Deloris leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Donald, along with their children, Dawn Lee (Willie) Wilks of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Donald Lee Jr. of South Bend, Indiana. Also surviving are Deloris'' siblings, Harvey McGriff of Stockton, California, Willie McGriff, Charlsie Rubin of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Pearl (Cornelious) Price of Antioch, California, Debora Farreau of Dallas Texas, and Sabrina David of Long Beach, California. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; Christopher, Dacia, Cameron, Dawn, Isaiah, Willie III, Donald III, and Trinity, her in-laws, Clifton and Ruby Lee, and a host of friends and relatives.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the 11:00am funeral services on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Elizabeth Memorial Church of God in Christ; 1246 Lincolnway West, South Bend, Indiana, 46628. Deloris will be laid to rest in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Indiana.
Deloris graduated from Long Beach Poly High School in California. She was employed for many years as a Physical Therapist, Certified Nursing Assistant, and a Clerk, all in the medical field. She was fond of cooking, singing, and writing plays in her spare time. Deloris was also fond of Bible class at Elizabeth Memorial Church of God in Christ, where she was a member for many years.
