Delton L. Gortney, 68, of Elkhart, passed away at 9:45 pm in Valley View Health Care, Elkhart. Delton was born on October 16, 1941 in Murfreesboro, TN. On June 21, 1980, he married Falicia Richards
He is survived by his wife, Falicia Gortney of Elkhart, five children, Kathy (Jim) Shupert, Sharon (Steve) Young, Karen (Joe) McGinnis, all of Elkhart, Delton L. (Bridgette) Gortney, Jr, of Murfreesboro, TN and Bryant (Jenny) Gortney, of Elkhart, 24 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.
He worked as a welder for Rance Aluminum Fabrication of Elkhart for 25 years.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, January 25, 2010 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
