Shipshewana - Dennis Kempf 70 passed away Friday evening at Elkhart Memorial Hospital after a sudden brief illness. Dennis was born to William and ValJean(Smith)Kempf in South Bend. He had worked as a forklift driver for the SimPlex Inc. before his retirement. Dennis was an avid Nascar fan as well as being a hardcore Green Bay packer fan. Dennis liked to be outdoors and he was especially known as being a hard worker. Dennis also served in the U.S. Army. Dennis married Mary Bartels the love of his life and together they would raise a family. Dennis is survived by son Dennis Kempf JR., Goshen and daughters Debra(Josh)Martin, Granger and Theresa(David)Garman, Goshen and grandchildren Heather, R.J., Brooklynn, Abbie and Chase. He also has two brothers surviving William(Sharon)Kempf JR. and Thomas(Peggy)Kempf. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and spouse. Family and friends may call May 6, 2015 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 Mckinley Highway Osceola, IN from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. A graveside service with full military honors will be held Thursday May 7, 2015 at 10:00am with a one hour prior viewing at the funeral home. Matt Gingerich will officiate.
