Derek R. Jernigan, 33, of Mishawaka died Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Derek was born November 18, 1980 in Elkhart and was a loving father who enjoyed his family and times spent watching movies. A proficient guitarist, he also enjoyed playing music.

Derek is survived by his mother, Dawn Jernigan of Bristol; father, Robert Jernigan of Citrus Springs FL; his children, Makayla Jernigan and Andrew Burleson; grandparents, Jean & Junior Ruffner of Elkhart, Robert & Mary Dominguez of Bristol and his sister, Dezarae (Teodoro) Urbina of Niles MI.
