Obituary

EDWARDSBURG- Devin R. Nethercutt, 26, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior in the early morning of Saturday, June 16, 2018. Devin was born December 20, 1991 in South Bend, Indiana to Glen & Phyllis Nethercutt, Jr. Devin was known as a very dedicated friend and had a very large, close-knit friend base. He spent many days enjoying video games, sport shooting, and fishing. Devin's best friend, Justin, was often his fishing partner. He also held adoration for his beautiful four-legged companion, Athena. He loved to play wheelchair basketball and cook. He would look up recipes online, whip up something special in the kitchen, and share the fruits of his labor with family & friends. While his bonds with friends were deep, the closeness he had for his brother, Travis, and his grandma was even more so. Devin and Travis had a special brotherhood that was unbreakable. He was always sure to speak to Travis and his grandma everyday on the phone and never missed the opportunity to tell them or anyone else that he loved them. Devin and his grandma were great buddies and there was nothing that she wouldn't do for him. He knew how important his relationships were, and was a very kind, loving, and gracious human. He appreciated all the things his loved ones did for him no matter how small. He will be missed dearly, but his light will always remain in the hearts of those who loved him. Devin is survived by his father, Glen (Sherrie) Nethercutt, Jr. of Elkhart; mother, Phyllis Nethercutt of FL; brother, Travis (Alexis Hack) Nethercutt of South Bend; step-brothers, Chase & Chance Biddle of Elkhart; step-sisters, Skylar Biddle & Ashley Fahlsing both of Elkhart, and Miranda (Vince) Langohr of Ligonier; grandfather, Glen Nethercutt, Sr.; grandmother, Barbara Cesavice; best friend, Justin Christman of Mishawaka, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Devin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tommy & Francis (Fisher) Sale, and Calvin & Henrietta Fisher. Also preceding him in death were his great-grandparents, William & Marguerite Deal. Family will receive visitors on Friday, June 22nd from 12 pm - 2 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home located at 10776 McKinley Hwy, Osceola. A service of remembrance will follow at the funeral home at 2 pm with Pastor Drew Richey presiding.
