Obituary

Diane Kay Doty, 58, of Mishawaka, passed away at 11:40 am, Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in after a courageous battle with cancer. Diane was born on December 10, 1951 in Osceola to Melvin and Arlene (Friesner) Blad. On 7-8-1978, she married Robert Doty.
Diane is survived by her husband, Bob Doty of Mishawaka, two children, Sarah (Jason) Owens of Mishawaka and Brian Doty of Fishers, IN; and a granddaughter, Megan Kay Owens. She is also survived by her father, Melvin (Leona) Blad of Wakarusa, and siblings, Carole (Dave) Foutz of Elkhart and David Blad of Osceola.
She was a graduate of Penn High School and Ball State University. She worked as a Claims Deputy for the Indiana Unemployment Office for 30 years, 20 of which were in Elkhart and 10 in South Bend. She retired in 2004. She loved to golf and belonged to a women''s golf league. She will be remembered for her continuous support and help with decorating her daughter''s school classroom. Diane loved to knit and enjoyed making projects for her family.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Friday, October 29, 2010 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 30, 2010 in the funeral home with Rev. Robert Vale officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
Memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 601 W. Edison Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
