Granger – Diane Mae Paczkowski passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Arborwood Retirement Center.

Diane was born on July 24, 1939, in LaPorte, Indiana, to the late Ellis and Marian (Ganser) Updike. She graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1957. Diane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James L. “Jim” Paczkowski; her brother, Lee Updike; and her sisters, Eileen Updike and Joyce Nowick.

Diane met the love of her life, James “Jim” L. Paczkowski, and they were married on September 15, 1956, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised five children.

Diane will be lovingly remembered by her children, Vicki (Dennis) Jensen, Linda (Steve) Snyder, Donald Paczkowski, Gerald (Kerrie) Paczkowski, and Jackie Collins; her grandchildren, Krystal, Rachelle (Ross), Christopher, Andrea, Dana (Todd), Brandon, Jennifer (Jason), Hannah (Jonathan), Lucy, Breanne (Steven), Allie, Andrew, and Sean; 18 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Jean Updike; and numerous extended family members, friends, and associates.

Diane was a devoted woman of faith and faithfully followed the Catholic faith alongside her husband. Her greatest joy was her family. She treasured the time she spent raising her children and grandchildren and cherished every moment with those she loved. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family was the center of her world.

Diane was also an avid fan of Notre Dame footbal and the Indiana Fever. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, working crossword puzzles, playing Euchre and other card games, and spending time with family and friends. Her warm heart, love of family, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, Indiana, where Diane will be laid to rest in the Garden of the Knights of Columbus.

Diane’s legacy of love will live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.
