Obituary

Granger - Diane Rose Rumpler, 78, passed away after a brief illness at The Raclin House in Mishawaka on January 11, 2025. She was born on December 17, 1946, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Peter B. and Betty J. (Grubbs) Kalil. She was also preceded in death by her husband Donald A. Rumpler, a son Donald James "DJ" Rumpler and two brothers, James N. and Peter B. Kalil. Donald and Diane were married on November 25, 1967, in Mishawaka. Diane was a graduate of Penn High School, Class of 1965.

Diane was a woman of many talents and passions. Everything she worked on came naturally to her, and she had a special gift for making all that she touched feel meaningful. Family was always her top priority. She enjoyed gardening, landscaping, decorating, and expressing herself through art and her home projects. Diane also loved dancing, traveling, and theater. Spending time with her family and friends was dearly cherished.

Diane is survived by her partner, Don Nugent of Granger; two sons, Robert (Nikki) Rumpler of Plymouth, Curt Rumpler of Granger; a sister, Sue (Rick) Persun of Osceola; grandchildren, Lauren Rumpler of Tempe, AZ and Kyle Rumpler of Plymouth; as well as nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, January 17, 2025, followed by a service at 1:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, IN.

Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, Indiana.
