Obituary

Dianna J. Bowers, 61, currently of Port Charlotte, FL, recently of Milford, IN, passed away at 12:58 am, Monday, June 21, 2010 in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Dianna was born on December 31, 1948 in Elkhart to the late Junior and Madeline (Dunfee) Smetzer. On July 16, 1966, in Wakarusa, she married William Bowers.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Bowers of Port Charlotte, FL; three daughters, Michelle (Sharon Gareis) Bowers of Barboursville, VA, Melissa (Shawn) Bornman of Milford, IN and Melinda (Robert) Dorman of Sellersburg, IN; 11 grandchildren, Jack, Nathan, Krista, Amber, Brittany, Joseph, Christal, David, Cassandra, Shelbe, and Zakery. She is also survived by three sisters, Dorothy Chute of Port Charlotte, FL, Donna Halsey of Elkhart, and Deloris Bontrager of Elkhart and one brother, Dan (Pat) Smetzer of Paoli, IN.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 161 Auxiliary of Mishawaka. She will be remembered for her love of making crafts and volunteering at nursing homes, where she donated the crafts.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, June 24, 2010 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, June 25, 2010 in the funeral home with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
