Dixie Eakins, 74, passed away at Elkhart General Hospital early Thursday morning. She was born to Alvin Allison and Maxine Heffner in Mishawaka. Dixie was a member of the Beulah Missionary Church of Elkhart. She was an active member of the Zion Missionary Church Sewing Club, and a member of the Red Hat Society. Dixie would participate and volunteer for any of the extra curricular activities that her church would offer. Dixie was also involved with the Women''s Connection program. Dixie is preceded in death by her father Alvin, and her daughter Peggy (Randall) Clark. Dixie is survived by her mother Maxine, her husband Raymond Eakins Sr., her son Raymond Jr. (Pamela), sisters Bonnie (Dean) Pittman, Susan (Dave) Stegman, and Pam Klute, her grandchildren Brooke, Bradley, Ryan, Reagan, and her great-grandchildren Logan, Savannah, and Chloe. A gathering of family and friends will take place at Chapel Hill Funeral Home located at 10776 McKinley Highway Osceola Indiana on Sunday November 29th from 4:00 - 8:00pm. A celebration of her life will be held Monday November 30th at Beulah Missionary Church located at 57595 Co Rd 17, Goshen, IN 46528 at 2:00pm with a one hour prior visitation with Pastor Earl Smith officiating. The family''s preferred memorial is Life Line Ministries 174 State St, Elkhart, IN 46516.
