Dolly Jean Karch, age 74, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Friday, June 18, 2010 at Porter Hospital in Valparaiso, Indiana. Dolly was born December 16, 1935 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Calup and Ruth (Fletcher) Pinks. On December 3, 1951, Dolly was married to Arthur Karch in Gifford, Indiana. Arthur preceded her in death, passing away on May 5, 1992.
Surviving are her children, Paul (Sandra) Karch of Westville, IN, Charles Karch of Columbia, S.C., Ruth (Mike) Rinchak of Chesterton, IN, Ronald (Nancy) Karch of Granger, IN, Gloria (Vernon) Gast of Wanatah, IN, and Robert Karch of Portage, IN. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving as well are her brothers, Virgil, Bill, Charles and Mack Pinks, and her sisters, Ethel Feddeler, Barbara Decker, and Cindy Kraus. Dolly was preceded in death by several siblings, and her daughter-in-law, Carol Karch.
Visitation will be held from 12-2 pm (EST) on Monday, June 21, 2010, with Funeral Services to follow at 2:00 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home; 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, Indiana. Entombment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
Dolly was a homemaker. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, taking walks with her husband Arthur, fishing with her sons, and hunting mushrooms. She was also a long time member of the Valparaiso Baptist Church.
