Don P. Jacobs, 69, of South Bend, died Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Memorial Hospital. The Holland, Michigan native was born March 12, 1944 to George & Annetta Jacobs. Don graduated from Ferris State University and was a US Navy veteran. He had retired from AEP. Don enjoyed travelling, bird watching, cooking and working in the yard & garden; he was a woodworker, collector of M&M memorabilia and he enjoyed music, playing guitar and was an avid fan of WNBA and Notre Dame Women''s Basketball. Don was dedicated to his friends, devoted to his family (including his dog, Jake) and was loving, caring and easy going. Don was preceded in death by both parents and his brother, Terry. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Laura Jacobs; his children, Leanne (Steve) Hartman Jensen of South Bend, Andy Hartman of Cincinnati, Adam (Jennifer) Rosser of Atlanta; grandchildren, Megan Jensen & Marisa Maguire of South Bend, Amanda & Matthew Rosser of Atlanta and his great-grandson, Quinn Maguire. Funeral Services 2:00 Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway. Friends may call 12-2pm Sunday in the funeral home. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family''s preferred memorial is the American Heart Association.
