ELKHART- Don E. Wilson, 84, passed away Sat, June 30, 2018 while surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Ira & Marie (Ruch) Wilson in Osceola, IN, October 6, 1933. Don graduated from Jimtown High School in 1951 and was on the track, basketball, and baseball teams. On Aug 22, 1953, Don was wed to Lorraine Daugherty until her passing in Feb of 2009. Don was employed most of his life in the RV & mobile home industry & retired from Hart Housing Group. He served his country in the United States Army while stationed in Alaska. He also attended Jamestown United Methodist Church, was a past member of the Moose Lodge #599 & American Legion Post # 308. Through his life he enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling, gardening, and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs. He was also a fan of the Notre Dame men's football and women's basketball teams. Don is survived by his daughter, Shari (James) Hahn; constant and loving companion of 8 years, Sandy Metcalf, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his brothers, Homer, Earle, and Robert Wilson; sister, Beverly Needham; nephew, Randy Wilson; niece, Tanya Wedge, & great-nephew, Anthony Paul Needham. Family will receive friends Fri, July 6th from 3 pm – 6 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. A service of remembrance will follow at 6 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Loft presiding.
