Obituary

Our mother, Donabelle Grace (Mudgett) Carmean, age 79, left this temporary home on July 27, 2016 and is now resting peacefully in God''s arms. Dona was born on July 5, 1937 to Paul and Dorothy (Jester) Mudgett, and was the oldest of three children. Dona married Robert Charles Carmean on December 11, 1955. He preceded her in death May 5, 2013. Dona leaves behind three children, Carmen Megonnell of Plymouth, Dorinda (Steve) Carner of Hope, Alaska, and Mark (Tammy) Carmean of Mishawaka; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great grandson due later this year; one great-great-grandson; her brother-in-law, Lee Carmean of North Carolina; and sister-in-law, Jean (Louie) Sherk of Edwardsburg, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, our father Robert; a brother Ronald; sister Barbara; her baby, Robert Paul; grandmother, Grace Wakefield; parents, son-in-law, Rick Megonnell; and grandson, Jeremy. Dona knitted and crocheted in her younger years, which she loved and was taught by the late Marjorie Rowe during The Women''s Group meetings at Apostolic Temple of South Bend which she attended. Her favorite hobbies were crossword puzzles and watching football. Her grandchildren always had what they needed or wanted and she was always generous to her children. Amish Acres was her favorite place to go and buy sweets for her family, dinners, and things she just insisted we needed. She participated in her children''s younger years in neighborhood water fights, and she would watch from the porch as a bunch of "out of control kids" played kick ball and kick the can. Words cannot express our gratitude to the entire DeBaillie family for their care, concern and Sunday meals they provided for our mother and the love they showed to her since our father passed. We would also like to thank St. Joseph Hospital of Mishawaka for true compassion from all nurses and doctors as they tried to make her comfortable in her last days. We take comfort, and peace knowing she is no longer in pain or suffering. This is not goodbye, but it is, until we see you again as we walk together on the streets of gold. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.'' Romans 14:8. . Family and friends will be received on Saturday, July 30, 2016 from 12-2 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 2 PM with Pastor David Sjorberg.
