Donald R. Bowen, 86 , of Cassopolis Mich. and formerly of Elkhart, died Tuesday May 12, 2015 in Cassopolis. The Chicago native was born March 29, 1929 to Aaron & Marion (Lowery) Bowen. Don was a US Army veteran, serving with the 2nd Armored Division in Germany. He retired from R.E. Jackson and was formerly employed at Adams & Westlake. He was a member of the V.F.W. and was an avid hunter, fisherman and dog trainer; he loved to spend time with his family and thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Elfriede; son Michael and siblings, Shirley Barnhill, Gloria Lowery, Gordon & Clifford Bowen. He is survived by his son, Donald A. (Robin) Bowen of Cassopolis; grandchildren, Brandy Lynn (Ricky) Murphy of Cassopolis and Samantha Erin Bowen of Edwardsburg; great-grandchildren, Jediahdiah, Rickyjah, Mariahlynn, Adrian & Nashae and Marion, Alexandra, Zachary & Jacob; sisters, Delores Kincaid of Crandon WI and Elaine (Gary) May of Green Bay WI; brothers, Eugene Bowen of Florence WI, Richard Bowen of Maple Grove WI, Fred Bowen of Green Bay WI and Daniel (Rose) Bowen of Iron Mountain MI. Memorial Service 11:00 Saturday May 16, 2015 at Porter Baptist Church, 12032 Teasdale Lake Street, Constantine MI 49042. Cremation arrangements through Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy.
