Donald D. Bowman, 72, of Granger, died Monday December 17, 2012. The Elkhart native was born December 18, 1939 to Raymond P. and Marthella "Dutch" (Lovett) Bowman, who have preceded Don in death. On March 26, 1957 he married Carol A. Rummel in Elkhart. Don served in the U.S.Army National Guard for several years. He was the Founder and President of Press Automation, Inc. Don was a devoted family man and also an avid sailor, Don and his family chartered boats in the Carribean, as well as enjoying their own boat on Lake Michigan, and had accomplished two Atlantic crossings, one specifically following the exact route of Christopher Columbus. In addition to his parents, Don was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Robin Sue Bowman; brothers, Kenneth Bowman and Bernard "Bunny" Bowman and sister, Betty Weiss. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Carol S. Bowman; sons, Donald D. "Budd" (Terri) Bowman, Jr.of Bristol and Mark A. (Stacey) Bowman of Granger; daughter, Robin LeeAnn (John) Riddle of Tippecanoe; grandchildren, Brandi (Larry Chipps) Bowman of Portland OR, Ryan (Erin) Bowman of Fishers, Daniel (Krista) Bowman of Downers Grove IL, Kara (Jared) Hostetler of Elkhart, Jonathon Riddle of Tippecanoe, Sarah Riddle of Tippecanoe; great-grandchildren, Jace, Vance, Caybri and Dane, and his sister, Patricia Romberger of South Bend. Funeral Services 11:00 Friday, December 21, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy with calling one hour prior to services. Calling also Thursday 2-4 & 6-8pm in the funeral home.
