Donald G. Huxford Jr., age 68, of Mishawaka passed away January 6, 2014. Don was born February 27, 1945 in Clinton, Indiana to the late Donald G. Sr. and Maxine (Cinotto) Huxford. Don moved to Mishawaka as a child, and graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1962. He also attended Indiana State University and later Ivy Tech for classes. On April 29, 1983, Don married Joyce Blair in Mishawaka. They recently celebrated 30 years of marriage.
Joyce survives, along with Don''s son, Jason Huxford of Elkhart, and 2 grandchildren, Bryce and Jillian Huxford. Also surviving is his brother, Myron (Phyllis) Huxford of South Bend and his nieces, Carrie and Kelly.
Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the 3:00 pm funeral service on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Don was employed by Gilberts Men''s Store in South Bend for 25 years. He then worked for the Accounting Department of the Indiana Toll Road until his retirement in 2008. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and watching John Wayne movies. He was a proud Grandpa, and enjoyed watching his grandchildren''s sporting events. Don was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mishawaka and the Sports car Club of America for several years.
