Donald John Fout, Sr. #MrDonSir, passed away quietly in the night after a brief bout with illness at Fairhaven Hospice in Mishawaka, IN. Born June 3, 1936, in Iowa City, IA to the late Brenton and Anna (nee Gaulocher) Fout. Longtime resident of Mishawaka and very active in the music community. Donald lived a simple life and impacted many of those around him. Surviving is his twin brother, Mr. Ronald Fout of Chicago, IL and his children, Donald John Fout, Jr., McCook, Nebraska, Cynthia Ann Fout, Hart, MI. Linda (Robert) Prestridge, Hart, MI, James (Vicki) Fout, Delta, CO, Cheryl (Matthew) McClure, Hart, MI, Duane (Jeanna) Fout, Grand Island, NE and Christine Gallup, Wenatchee, WA. Also surviving Donald are his stepchildren, Terri (Steven) Byers, Robbie Eisenhart, Michael Eisenhart and Dori Hale all of Mishawaka, Indiana. Donald is also survived by a multitude of nieces and nephews, grand and great grandchildren. Donald was very active in the music scene in Nebraska (McCook) in the 1970's with his band, Chi Guy and Chicago's Country, which consisted of him and three of his best friends, Ken Odea, Dave Beard, and Russell Dougherty, and along with Guy Hicks and Mike Green mixed in. Being a long-haul truck driver, logging 3+ million miles, under the CB handle "Chi Guy with the necktie". Donald spent a lot of time away from home, but every weekend spent a lot of fun and joyous time with his children and his band. Upon relocation to Mishawaka, IN, Donald, lovingly referred to as Mr. Don Sir, was extremely active in the music scene with open mic nights, jam sessions and karaoke. Mr. Don Sir enjoyed several of his own written and performed songs being in the top charts of the various online music sites. Two in particular are: The Cost of Losing You and I'm Not Lookin' for Mrs. Right. Donald is preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his 8 children, Shirley Fout Usrey, and second wife, Dorothy Fout, his daughter Pamela Fout. Brother David H. Fout, three sisters, Florence, Josephine, and Laura. Donald will be cremated and interred at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens alongside his deceased wife, Dorothy Fout, in a private ceremony. The celebration of life will occur later, as announced by the family. The Fout family would like to say a special Thank you to Don's closest friend, Mrs. Peggy Bolin and her granddaughter, Izzy, of Plymouth, IN. Peggy spent a lot of time taking care of our dad and his affairs and we will be forever grateful. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that everyone do what Mr. Don Sir did, pay it forward and be kind to each other. Mr. Don Sir has left the building!
