Donald L. Poulson, age 76, of Mishawaka, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. Don was born May 13, 1938 in Bremen, Indiana to the late Roy and Fern (Heckaman) Poulson. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1955, and served honorably until his discharge in 1959. On March 18, 1972, he married Bonnie Nagy . She preceded him in death, passing away in April of 2005. Don spent many years with the Street Department for the City of South Bend, before retiring on June 1, 2000.
Survivors include his children, Teri (Kevin) Kidder of LaFollette, TN, Michael (Sherri) Nagy of Mishawaka, Janet (Bill) Hailey of Elkhart, Cathy Poulson, and Rick Nagy of Bloomington, IN. Also surviving are his sister, Opal Jackson of Syracuse, IN, 13 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Poulson.
Visitation will be held from 2-6 pm Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Monday, December 15, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with entombment and Military Honors to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Don enjoyed spending time as a volunteer at the Studebaker Museum in South Bend. He also enjoyed playing euchre, and bowling. He and his wife Bonnie enjoyed traveling as well.
