Donald R. Whybrew, 90, of LaGrange, formerly of Elkhart, passed away at 8:00 pm, Friday, May 27, 2011 in Miller''s Merry Manor, LaGrange. Donald was born on January 23, 1921 in Elkhart, the son of the late John and Edith (Ryman) Whybrew. On March 22, 1956 he married Alta Yoder; she passed on June 21, 1974. He remarried to Sarah Yoder on October 6, 1974. She passed away in October 19, 2002. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Paul.
He is survived by two sons, Phillip (Cherie) Whybrew of Mishawaka and Mark Whybrew of Granger; three grandchildren, Bill, Carrie, and Jeremiah and five great grandchildren, Emma, Zach, London, Brody, and Savannah.
Don proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and earned a purple heart before his discharge in 1946. He was a member of McCoy Baptist Church, Elkhart and Teamsters Local 364.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola with two hours of visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
