Donna B. Hardy, age 85, of Elkhart, Indiana passed away August 1, 2009 at her residence at Hubbard Hill Estates of natural causes. Donna was born March 14, 1924 in Elkhart Indiana to the late Jesse and Hazel (Strang) Green. On July 31, 1948, Donna married Edward G. Hardy in Elkhart, Indiana. The Hardy''s had just celebrated 61 years of marriage prior to Donna''s passing.
Ed survives, along with three children, Larry Hardy of Reno, Nevada, Doug (Nancy) Hardy of Sautters Creek, California, and Carol (Donnie) Burgess of Elkhart, Indiana. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a son-in-law, Keith Jones. Donna was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy Jones in November of 2008.
Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the 3:00 pm funeral service at Hubbard Hill Estates; 28070 County Road 24, Elkhart, Indiana on Wednesday, August 5, 2009. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Indiana. Chapel Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Donna was employed by the Cleveland Township Assessor''s office for many years. Following her retirement, she and her husband Ed enjoyed traveling the United States together. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and gardening. Donna was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and she held office for many years with the Elkhart County Democratic Party.
