Dorcas A. "Dee" Curths, 64, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday April 6, 2016, surrounded by family. She knew Jesus as her Lord & Savior and now walks pain free, with Jesus. The Elkhart native was born January 29, 1952 to George and Catherine (Decker) White, who have both preceded her in death. Dee graduated from Elkhart High School with the Class of ''70 and served in the US Army at Ft. Drum NY and Ft. Sheridan IL, with the Military Police. She earned her nursing degree at Bethel College and was employed at Goshen Hospital where she was regarded as an exceptional caregiver, due in part to her selfless & giving nature. She had a great love & devotion to her son, Phillip, who at six months of age, came to her from San Pedro, Honduras. Dee enjoyed attending Prophesy Club meetings and reading her Bible; she was a member of River of Life Community Church in Elkhart. She also enjoyed exploring garages sales and caring for her golden retriever, Dakota. Dee is survived by her son, Phillip (Ashley) Curths; grandson, Calvin Curths; sister, Vicki (Richard) Bloss, and her niece & nephew, Michelle White & Shannon White. Funeral Services 2:00 Saturday April 16, 2016 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy, with Rev. Nancy Kidder officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 12-2 in the funeral home. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with military honors. The preferred memorial is River of Life Community Church, 2626 Prairie St, Elkhart IN 46517.
