Doris J. Bass, 82, of Bradenton, FL and formerly of Elkhart, died Thursday August 27, 2015 in Florida.

A native of Charleston WV, Doris was born July 25, 1933 to Robert & Myrtle (Nicholas) Hartwell. On March 14, 1950, she married Estel "Sam" Bass in Charleston; Sam preceded her in death in 1983 after 33 years of marriage.

Doris lived most of her life in Elkhart and had retired as a qualified medical assistant.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, a grandson, a great-grandson and all of her siblings. Doris is survived by her children, Diana (Gerry) Neel of Palmetto FL, Regina Marker of Elkhart, Barbara (Dennis) Powell of Valparaiso, Randall (Judy) Bass of Elkhart and William Steve Bass; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services 2:00 Wednesday September 2, 2015 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy, where friends may call for one hour prior to services. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
