Doris Ann Neuenschwander, 76, of Elkhart, passed away at 2:50 pm, Sunday, December 23, 2012 in Elkhart General Hospital. Doris was born on May 16, 1936 in Centralia, MO, the daughter of the late Clarence and Anna L. (Fosdick) Edelman.

She is survived by three children, David (Michele) Neuenschwander of Cocoa Beach, FL, Mary Edwards of Elkhart, and Rebecca (Jim) Haney of Elkhart; eight grandchildren, David Neuenschwander, Jr., Sara (Jon) Hoskin, Michael (Jen) Hollandsworth, Amanda (Justin) Schenk, Erich Neuenschwander, Beth Neuenschwander, Gina Haney, and Andrea (EJ) McFarland; and four great grandchildren, Emma, Emit, Garret, and Carly. She is also survived by a sister, Jocelyn Basse of Marquette, MI and daughter in law, Marie Neuenschwander. She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Phil, and two brothers, Art and Dan Edelman.

Doris graduated from Elkhart High School in 1954. From there, she attended Ball State University. She retired from Sears after many years and had been an organist for her church.

A celebration of her life will be held from 3:30-7:00 pm, Friday, January 4, 2013 at 1216 Kilbourn Street, Elkhart. Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola is handling arrangements.
