Doris Louise (Bender) Jaynes, age 89, of Niles, passed away at 2:15 pm, Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Brentwood Assisted Living Center in Niles, Michigan. Doris was born April 28, 1922 to the late John F. and Hazel O. (Kent) Bender in Worthington, Indiana. On November 16, 1945, she married Nathaniel Jaynes. He preceded her in death, passing away eight days before her, on June 7, 2011.
Surviving are five children, Jeri L. Taylor of Niles, James G. (Mary Ann) Jaynes of Niles, Jacqueline L. Stock of Niles, Cynthia A. Jaynes of South Bend, and Carole S. (David) Enos of South Bend. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Surviving as well are her siblings, Jerry Bender of Big Rapids Michigan, Yvonne Ravish of Sturgis, Michigan, and Clara Keeler of Utah. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Jayne L. Jaynes, and her brothers, Robert Bender, Flavious "Bob" Bender, and Darl Bender.
She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah''s Witnesses, Niles, and was very involved and active during her membership there. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, and later listening to audio books, as well as watching television and listening to music.
A memorial talk will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, June 18, 2011 in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah''s Witnesses, 603 N. 17th St., Niles, MI 49120. Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola is handling arrangements.
