Doris Irene Posey, 79, of Elkhart, passed away at 4:00 am, Friday, January 8, 2010 in her home. Doris was born on April 29, 1930 in Flora, MS to the late William and Willie (Myers) Dozier. On August 11, 1945, she married Edward Posey.
She is survived by her loving husband, Edward of Elkhart; daughter, Linda Bowers of Elkhart, four grandchildren, Tammy (Ronnie) Stanley, Dennis Posey, Tracey Posey, and Jamie Posey; two great grandchildren, Brandi Dawe and Amanda Garrigan and three great great grandchildren, Madi, MaKa, and Cloee. She is also survived by brother, Bobby Dozier and sister, Mildred Deason. She is preceded in death by her parents, one son Dennis Posey, grandson, Jeffery Bowers, one brother and two sisters.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Monday, January 11, 2010 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in the funeral home with Rev. Mick Sommers officiating. Burial will take place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
