Dorothy Marie Batiz

November 29, 1936 – December 10, 2023

Dorothy Batiz 87, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away on December 10, 2023.  She is survived by her daughters Susan (Mike) Jackson of Allen Texas, Lisa Batiz of Mishawaka Indiana, Melissa Pace of Mishawaka Indiana and sons John Batiz Jr. of Mishawaka Indiana and Donald F. Batiz of Goshen Indiana. She is also survived by her brother Stanley Wilder of Hernando Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leon Pounds & Mary Lee (Edwards) Pounds and her husband John Batiz Sr.

Dorothy was a long-time member of the Presbyterian Church.  She had a passion for helping children and was a girl scout and boy scout leader for many years.  She also loved doing crafts and all of her many hobbies.

Dorothy was also blessed with 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She especially loved precious time with her family.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Heartland Hospice 230 W. Catalpa Dr. Unit D, Mishawaka, IN 46545 and The Potawatomi Zoo 500 S Greenlawn Ave., South Bend, IN 46615.

The family will be holding a private service for Dorothy.
