Obituary

Dorothy W. Davis, 82, passed away after an extended illness on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at Hospice House in South Bend, Indiana. She was born July 7, 1933 to the late Andrew Jackson and Florence Lee (Ticer) Dennis in Hardin County, Tennessee. Dorothy married L.B. Davis on October 18,m 1953. He preceded her in death on February 25, 1993. Surviving are her children, Susan Davis-Edwards of Nashville, TN and Richard Davis of Mishawaka, IN; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband L.B.; son-in-law, Gary Edwards; six brothers; two sisters; two half-brothers; and three half-sisters. Dorothy was a homemaker and enjoyed participating in Cub Scouts, Campfire Girls, and being active with the PTA at her children''s school. She also loved reading, sewing, crafts and needlework, and crocheting. Dorothy was a breast cancer survivor and an advocate for cancer causes. She donated her hair to Locks of Love. The family would like to thank the Hospice House of South Bend and the Frensius Dialysis Center for their excellent care of Dorothy during her illness. Friends and family may gather Friday, February 26, 2016 at 10 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561 for the funeral service in Mrs. Davis''s honor with Rev. Calvin Schlabach officiating. Private burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
