MISHAWAKA - Dorothy L. Waterman passed away Saturday morning at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center Mishawaka IN. DOROTHY was born to Quinton and Martha Chandler in Ruleville Miss. Dorothy had resided in Mishawaka area for the last fifty years. Dorothy was of Baptist Faith but in her later years she would attend the church service at Golden Living Center where she lived. She had been employed by Uniroyal for over 30 years. Dorothy was also an outstanding seamstress she loved upholstery work and especially sewing apparel for "Elvis" impersonators. Dorothy travelled all over the United States and even visited the Philippine''s at one time to spend time with family there. She derived much pleasure from the simplest things such as pretty rocks, moonlight evenings but Dorothy''s best love and most extremely important of all was her children and grandchildren. Dorothy married Hubert P. Thompson and they were happily married until he preceded her in death. Their children include Clifton "Paul" Thompson Moselle., MS, Robert (Claudia) Thompson Mishawaka, IN., Patricia (Ken) Smith Hattiesburg, MS., Joyce Skaggs Granger, IN., she also has fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Dorothy is also survived by two brothers Lester (Darlene) Chandler Laurel, MS. and Clyde (Celeste) Chandler Mobile AL. She was also preceded in death by daughter Doris Springman two granddaughter''s Stacy Lynn and Tereasa Marie one grandson Hubert Doyle two brother''s Albert and John and sister''s Luclile, Addie Mae, Cassie, Martha and Ethel. A visitation will be held Monday March 23, 2015 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 Mckinley Hwy Osceola, IN. from 6:00pm -8:00pm a funeral service will be Tuesday March 24, 2015 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home at 2:00pm with one hour visitation prior with burial immediately following in The Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with Chuck Strantz officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Foundation 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka IN. 46564 in Dorothy''s memory.
