Earl D. Comstock, 95, of Goshen, died Monday March 27, 2017. Earl was born in Astoria, IL on March 29, 1921, the second of six children of James E. & Clara (Stahl) Comstock. He was a US Army Air Corps. veteran of WWII, served in the Asiatic & Pacific theatres, awarded two Bronze Stars, as well as Victory & Conduct medals and was a member of the American Legion. Earl retired as a foreman for Richmond Wholesale and was a devoted member of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Goshen where he served as a greeter for over 20 years. After retirement, he enjoyed winters in Sebring Florida and began another career providing handyman services in both Goshen and Florida, making many good friends by helping others. Earl was outgoing and well-liked; his hobbies included genealogy & word search puzzles and he enjoyed watching golf and religious programs on TV. Earl was preceded in death by wives, Gloria & Dorothy; infant daughter Karen and siblings, Edward, Joseph & Elmer Comstock and Lucille Clark. He is survived by his children, Steven Comstock of Sturgis MI, Darlene (Harry) Petrat and Renetta (Roy) Ulch, both of Goshen, and Rick (Carolyn) Comstock of White Pigeon MI; step-son, Larry (Gail) Snyder of Mishawaka; sister, Thelma (Carroll) Walton of Pierceton; ten grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and thirteen great-great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 Saturday April 8, 2017 in Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, 110 S. 5th St. Goshen, IN 46528. After services, military honors at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens will be provided by the Goshen Veterans Honor Guard.
