Edith L. Cantrell, age 80, of South Bend, passed away at her residence on Monday, November 28, 2011. Edith was born June 6, 1931 to the late Frank and Flora (Prince) Turney in Drasco, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton M. Cantrell. Edith was employed as a bartender for many years. As an avid gardener and proprietor of Edie''s Eden, she raised and sold tomatoes, and was registered with Purdue University as a grower of perennial plants and flowers. Edith also ran a small Shaklee products business in her spare time. Survivors include her children, Terri Rouch of Lafayette, Louisiana, Charles Cantrell and Donna Chamblee, both of South Bend, Andrea Cantrell of Hiram, Georgia and Marcus Cantrell, of South Bend. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Edith was preceded in death by her son Michael, two brothers, and two sisters. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 2, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
