Edna Mae Perrin, age 95, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Elkhart General Hospital. Edna was born December 19, 1916 in Delphi, Indiana.
Surviving are her children, Jerry D. Perrin and his wife Tamara of Osceola, and Joan Ivy of Elkhart, along with 5 grandchildren; Chris Perrin and his wife Jennie, Kerri Egan and her husband David, Karla Musser and her husband Scott, Lee Ivy and his wife Grace, and Stacy Robinson and her husband Shaun. Surviving as well are 3 great granddaughters, Kenna, Ava, and Olive. Edna was preceded in death by her husband Lee E. Perrin in 1980, her son Jimmie Lee Perrin in 2001, and her son-in-law Van Ivy. Also preceding her in death was one brother and five sisters.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. There will also be one hour of calling prior to the 11:00 am funeral service on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Chapel Hill, with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Edna was employed for many years as the Manager of the Three-Points Motel in Elkhart. Beginning around 1947, Edna was one of the first female school bus drivers in the State of Indiana. She enjoyed baking, making homemade noodles and rolls. She also enjoyed working in her garden, and playing cards, especially "Crazy-8''s" with her family. Edna was a hard working and dedicated Mother, Grandmother, and friend to all.
In her memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimer''s Association, or the Bethel United Methodist Church in Elkhart, of which she was a member for many years.
