Edna A. Self, 95, of South Bend, passed away peacefully at 10:10 pm, Friday, April 12, 2013 in Kindred Traditional Care and Rehab. She was born on June 27, 1917 in Russiaville, IN, the daughter of the late Edward and Naomi (Johnson) Coonrod.

She is survived by two children, Phyllis Steele of Osceola and Gene (Mary) Blackburn of Edwardsburg, MI; nine grandchildren, Mark Steele of Goshen, Crystal Steele of Phoenix, Steve (Anne) Blackburn of Mishawaka, Gary (Marcie) Blackburn of Mesa, AZ, Kirk Blackburn of Mesa, AZ, Jeanne (Mark) McDonald of South Bend, Joan Dickson of Ft. Wayne, Julie (Rich) Dudkowski of South Bend and Anthony (Karen) Riczo of San Antonio, TX. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren, Patrick (Amani) Steele, Ryan Steele, Brian Blackburn, Alex Blackburn, Alaina Blackburn, Sara Cartwright, David Rice, Ben McDonald, Kate McDonald, Aaron Dudkowski, Jon Dudkowski, Tyler Riczo and Bynna Riczo , one great great granddaughter, Sophia and good friends of the family, Beverly (Larry) Steele.

Edna was a member of Unity Church of Peace, South Bend. She was a fantastic mother and human being and was able to find the good in everything.

Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:30 am, Tuesday, April 16, 2013 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, April 16, 2013 in the funeral home with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
